As I read about President Goodluck
Jonathan’s declaration of ''state of emergency'' in three northern
states and how some Governors and Legal practitioners disapproved of his move,
it made me wonder...
Dear governors on the opposing
side of Mr. President, where have you guys been... what would it take for you
people to see that those states in northern Nigeria are not safe and something
needed to be done about it? Boko Haram has continued to kill innocent Nigerians
in these states and you have all sat in the comfort of your heavily guarded
homes and offices far from the troubled sites sipping don P and chillaxing, now
you want to sound like you are protecting the freedom of Nigerians.. What kind
of freedom are we talking about in a place where people are in constant fear of
danger?
Some lawyer dude, who wanted to exercise his good use of vocabulary said, ‘’
the President’s action was not in tandem with the constitution’’, then he went ahead to
quote plenty-plenty sections of the constitution to justify the money his
parents spent to send him to school, he also said ''Nigeria was not at war or imminent
danger of invasion''. I guess this is where education and common-sense went there separate ways.I don’t know about you guys but i personally declared state of emergency on all northern states and have since barred my visit to that part of Naija. My grandfather God bless his soul... said, ‘one should not use ointment for the ears on ones eye’. If we are still talking of ‘fundamental human rights’ with what is going on in the north, then I guess we are delusional and need to quickly see a shrink
I don’t want to call names or
raise quotes that will point to a particular person or group of people, since
this blog was not set up as a political-talk platform... but seriously, a lot
of y’all are full of crap.
It makes one wonder if all this talk of
freedom is not just a move suggested by your PR teams to get us interested in you
for future elections...
To our esteemed Nigerian celebrity-Lawyers,
it has come to our attention that you seize whatever opportunity you get to showcase
your legal mumbo-jumbo. We urge you to use your position in the society wisely
and stop sounding like you are watching Nigeria from Moscow.
I am not particularly fond of Mr.
President myself but I think in this matter we should cut him some slack. The man
is fed up with the whole Boko-haram bullshit.
Uncle Jona please carry-on sir!
